One of the songs I play called Columbia, Your My Home, has a very difficult section involving "pinching" on the treble and bass strings followed by an offbeat treble note followed by another pinch alternating the bass in very rapid and syncopated 4/4 time. Here's the tab for two measures in G:

1------3M---------------------3M----------
2------------0I---3I----OI--------0I--3I--0I
3---------------------------------------------
4-----------------0T-------------------0T---
X---------------------------------------------
6------3T---------------------- 3T-----------

After the third repitition, rush a treble note on the on the first string, third fret a half beat. That's right, it's syncopated. Anyway that's about the most difficult riff I know in acoustic blues. I always have trouble with it. Well Yesterday I played a Santa Cruz rosewood dreadnaught ($3000) and I nailed it! Again and again! Damn, what a sweet ride that was!

I hadn't dropped by Galaxy (my 2nd favorite guitar store, link on the right) in a while so I gave them a look-see yesterday. Glad I did...Wow what a sale. First of all, looks like they are dropping their Larrivee affiliation and becoming a Martin dealership. All of their 2004 Larrivee's are on sale: Several D03's for $649. These are $1,000 guitars, very affordable, very playable, with a sound equal to any guitar at that thousand dollar level. I am buying a D-02, a brother to the D03 so I'm familiar with that guitar. They also have a Larrivee L09, a flame maple jumbo retailing for $2400 that Galaxy had been selling for $1620, now on sale for $1195. Somebody buy this guitar before I get into serious trouble with my wife and end up with two guitars! I played the blond jumbo and the base rumbled and roared. The midrange and treble were a little brassey but that's the maple talking. I love the look of the split flame maple back and I am thinking of every scheme I can to make this guitar my own. We're talking half price here! I could turn this over for $400 profit on e-bay if I wanted to. Come on Somebody front me!!!
